The sliding scale challenges economic injustice and allows services to be offered at an adjusted rate based on your income (and intersections of your identity/reality that may impact that). I have a non-exhaustive list below of things to consider when deciding what to pay. I understand that the lowest end of the scale is still inaccessible to some so please get in contact and we can work something out.

I will never ask you to explain yourself and encourage everyone to pay what feels right, I trust everyone to identify their privileges and can make an informed decision using this information.

CoNsIdeR PAyiNG mOrE If yOu :

✶ Comfortably have your basic needs met (food, housing, transportation).

✶ Have an expendable income every paycheck/month.

✶ Own the home you live in, can afford to live on your own, or choose to rent high-end property.

✶ Choose to work part-time or be unemployed.

✶ Have access to family money and resources in times of need.

✶ Have investments, retirement accounts, inherited money, or the ability to save money over time (and comfortably access savings).

✶ Travel recreationally or are traveling out of state for this tattoo.

✶ Have a bachelor's degree or higher

✶ Have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education, gender privilege, racial privilege, class background, etc. (Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, I ask you to recognize this as a choice.)

✶ Are white, cis, able-bodied, etc, and otherwise do not face racism/discrimination/systemic oppression based on the above.

CoNsiDeRiNg PaYiNg LeSs If YoU:

✶ Have recurring medical expenses not covered by insurance.

✶ Sometimes struggle or often struggle to meet your basic needs (food, housing, transportation).

✶ Have immigration-related expenses.

✶ Are eligible for/rely on public assistance.

✶ Are supporting children or have dependents.

✶ Have significant debt (that impacts your ability to get basic needs met, affects access to transportation, etc)

✶ Are an unpaid community organizer or mutual aid worker.

✶ Are a sex worker who experiences occupational discrimination (personal and/or legislative

✶ Experience anti-Blackness or other forms of institutional/racialized harm.

✶ Experience violence, discrimination, and/or been denied work due to transphobia, homophobia, ableism, xenophobia, or fatphobia.

✶ Have been incarcerated and/or denied work/housing due to prior convictions.

✶ Experiencing unstable housing or homelessness.

* Systemic is used here specifically relating to the policies, practices, and beliefs established within our social, economic, and political practices/systems in the U.S. Often extremely oppressive and harms Black, brown, Indigenous, disabled, undocumented/migrant, and LGBTQIA2S+, etc communities.

tIpPinG:

Tips are always appreciated but not mandatory, the industry standard is 20%. I love nonmonetary tips in the form of handmade gifts, art, plants, food, etc.

I am always open to working within a given budget.

​My home is not wheelchair or mobility aid accessible but I am more than happy to assist you and/or someone you know to access the stairs.

A person or pet aid of any kind is welcome as long as they are vaccinated. Please let me know if you will be accompanied on the booking form so I can prepare the space before the appointment.
